Entrecard vs BlogRush - And The Winner Is...
By a mile. I first heard about Entrecard earlier this month and kept meaning to check it out. It kept slipping my mind, though, and I didn't get around to looking at it again until a couple of days ago. I installed the Entrecard widget and began dropping my card at other's sites.
It was a simple process and the benefits have been tremendous. Entrecard is what BlogRush wished it could be without the need for an affiliate program. How good is Entrecard? I'm glad you asked.
Above are the stats from Entrecard for the first two days of being signed up. As you can see, there were 18 referrals from entrecard.com. 18 hits in two days sounds pretty good to me. So, how does that compare to all the traffic I received from BlogRush?
That's right, that is all of the traffic I had ever received from BlogRush. Notice, if you will, that two days at Entrecard garnered more traffic than two months with BlogRush. And not only that, but two days with Entrecard made for double the traffic for two months with BlogRush.
Entrecard is able to accomplish that by the simple expedient of their e-business card approach. You see, you can earn credits on Entrecard by "dropping" your e-card on someone else's site. When you do this, you earn one credit and your e-card shows up in that user's inbox on the site. You can use these credits that you earn to purchase advertising on another's site. Then, your e-card shows up on their site for one day. You may also earn credits when other users wish to advertise on your site. You are paid an amount of credits for each day of advertisement based on the number of dropped e-cards you get each day.
Overall, it's a fabulous system as it encourages the users to visit each other's sites to use the service. As more people sign up for Entrecard the more traffic your site should get from using the Entrecard widget. Exactly what BlogRush was attempting to accomplish but was incredibly unsuccessful in doing.

I don't even think I've heard of Entrecard before reading your article. I guess with all the fuss over Blogrush I just ignored it or something. It does sound interesting. I visit a lot of sites so it might be worth a try.
Well, I'm not really sure they should technically be competitors except they are both designed to drive traffic to your site. As far as that one aspect is concerned, Entrecard wins hands down. Otherwise, the two widgets are entirely different in form and function. I definitely wish I hadn't put off signing up for Entrecard now, though. I've missed out on a lot of traffic.
I agree with you totally. BlogRush seems to hurt the smaller blog while EntreCard can only help. The theory being that you're building credits in a different manner and BlogRush involves you doing a lot of work to get referrals, or already being a high traffic blog. Great post here.
Yess!!! I signed up right after reading your post. Wonderful blog and helpful post!... will vote for you at bloggerschoice.
Thanks for the kind words. I'm just glad I was able to get a few more people interested in Entrecard. The more that use it the better it will be for everyone.
I will check it out. I am learning so much. I will take a look see.
Happy Holidays!
Love,
Babz
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I'll have to give it a try.
Thanks for the tip -- been playing around on Entrecard off and on all day. BTW, you badly need a pic for your card. Let me know if you want help with it. ;)
Yes, I do. I'm just completely unsure what it should be.
Anything is better than nothing... and you can always change it later if you come up with something better.
this the first time i heard about entrecard..nice research man...this info is really helps.
Was just about to write a post on Entrecard and zoom it with almost the same title!. Guess you beat me to it.I gave up on BlogRush ages ago but Entrecard looks good. I particulary like how you can choose who advertises on your site.
Yeah, I admit Entrecard are good. Thanks to them and Soul_Krasty, I'm here to read your awesome posts.
Only one thing bothered me, seem like card dropping has become an obsession with most bloggers. I wondered if they ever read anything on the blog they visited?
I know it gonna slow me down and making it (still) cheap to advertise on my blog, but it's worth it.
I got to meet and read new stuff daily like this one, ;-) Whenever possible, I leave a comment or two.
To show my appreciation to those who read and leave comments on my blog, I put a link specially for Entrecard's members.
See you around, Zybron.
Greetings and lotta loves from Malaysia.
I signed up yesterday and I already have more traffic than blogrush. However I am not sure it is "good" traffic. My bounce rate is 93% and Avg. Time on site is 4 seconds. At least the first day appears to be mostly card droppers, come to the site, drop card, and the leave. However it is small and even if a couple of people read and subscribe it is well worth it.
i just install the widget...not bad
